Crafted from Time and Tide

Made from reclaimed Douglas Fir hardwood, this eco-friendly table carries a story as captivating as its design. Originally grown in America for over 60 years, the wood later served as Scottish groyne sea defences. After a storm freed it, the timber washed ashore on Gullane Beach, ready to be upcycled into a statement piece for your home.

Artful Rustic Design

The table’s surface is treated with the Shou Sugi Ban technique - a traditional Japanese wood-char method - highlighting the grain and creating a rich, weathered patina. Polished finishing oils enhance its natural imperfections, embracing a Wabi Sabi aesthetic. Four steel bow ties secure natural cracks, adding both structural integrity and visual interest. The Douglas Fir top is bolted with heavy-duty hardware, resting on handcrafted oak legs for a sturdy, functional base.
